DIY Melted Crayon Cards for Mother’s Day

Yesterday we made these fun Mother’s Day cards using wax paper and melted crayons, and Mod Podge.

Syd made a heart card. First we used a veggie peeler to shave the crayons.

Then assemble the shavings into a heart shape on wax paper. Lay another sheet of wax paper on top of the shavings.

For Sydney’s version, we used a hairdryer, on the hottest setting, to melt the crayons. You can also use an iron on the lowest heat setting.

Cut out the heart shape, and peel away one layer of paper.

Paint Mod Podge to exposed crayon surface.

Apply heart to the front of your card, and peel away remaining layer of wax paper.

To protect the crayon heart, apply a layer of Mod Podge to the entire front of the card.

Let it dry, and you’re finished!

Here is my card design. I won’t go into detail of each step, as it’s pretty much the same as Sydney’s heart, plus the pics are pretty self-explanatory. For this one, I only applied Mod Podge over the crayon, not the entire front of the card.

You can even use the leftover wax paper to make even more cards!
