Vintage Easter Basket with DIY Fabric Peony Accents

Easter is nearly here, and I finally got Sydney’s basket ready. I found this fantastic old basket at a thrift store, took out the icky fabric pillow that was in it and gave it a good cleaning. Then I was stuck on how to change it up. I contemplated painting it, but I kinda loved it just the way it was. Yesterday, I stumbled upon this tutorial for DIY fabric peony flower accessories from Creature Comforts. As soon as I saw the beautiful flowers, I knew that’s all the basket needed! You can follow the tutorial here. I followed her method, and also decided to add beads to the flower centers for a little sparkle.

For the grass, I rolled up a piece of tissue paper and cut it into strips. Then I shredded a piece of green construction paper, and mixed the two. Now Syd is all set and ready for the Easter Bunny to visit!
