Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I am planning out some fun projects for Syd and I to work on this week. While I get going on that, I wanted to share some great new finds that I’ve just added to my Etsy shop! Be sure to stop by and check them out!
I am super in love with this lacquered brass bowl with pretty claw feet… this one will be extra hard to part with!
There’s no doubt that when it comes to recent design trends, blue is in. I first fell in love with the color and brought it home when we moved to our current apartment last spring. We coated our 12 foot bedroom walls in the perfect shade of navy blue. The color has actually become one of my all time favorite paint colors, and I can’t wait to use it in another room!
The blue hue is the perfect color scheme if you’re looking to achieve a unique and globally inspired design. Earlier this summer Ikea launched their limited edition True Blue Collection. It’s an Indian-inspired collection, and, in my opinion, it’s to die for. I want to own it all, and have been eagerly awaiting a release of the collection in our local stores. Sadly, I have finally come to the realization that it probably won’t happen. Sigh.
This week I am heading to Ohio to do a room makeover. So, over the next few days I will post pics of the room progress, diy projects, and of course before and after photos. I can’t wait to get started!
We had a wonderful weekend with family and celebrating my cousin’s graduation. Now, it’s back to the work week and being productive. To start things off this week, my business cards have finally arrived! I had been exploring different business card designs for awhile, and decided to go with a stamped card. Now I can make my own cards as I need them, and I can even use the stamps on packaging, notes and letters, and more. I am so excited, and wanted to share my stamps with you! You can order a stamp to use for almost any personalization project. I have even used mine to stamp my logo onto the front of my leather business card holder. Continue reading →
I’m sure most of you have seen the various paint dipped wooden spoons and utensils making their rounds on pinterest recently. I decided to make a set for our kitchen, using a striped design rather than just one solid color. Continue reading →
Over the weekend we decided to disregard the dark, luminous sky that hung above us, and trek out to the suburbs for a nice hike. Long story short, it stormed, we didn’t hike, and instead did some thrifting. I found some great pieces, and have added them to my Etsy Store. You can check them out here.
I’m so glad it’s Wednesday, that means we’re halfway to Friday! But… that also means there is still so much that needs to be done before the weekend is here! Looks like we have a busy day ahead of us. I have a couple design projects that need to be finished up, and Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so Sydney and I better get working! While we do that, I wanted to share a recent table transformation with you.
One night last month my husband took the dogs out for their evening stroll, and came back with these old wood nesting tables. They’re solid wood, in good structural shape, and have nice bamboo style legs. They just needed a facelift. Continue reading →
Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend! We sure did, Sydney loved her Easter basket, egg hunt, and just being away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a couple days. It was a nice relaxing weekend.
Today I bring you a diy project from a previous post, my spring centerpiece. I picked up a few simple white candles from the dollar store. I updated them and made them my own with the use of some painters tape and spray paint. Just tape. Spray. Peel. And enjoy! I went with gold to match our home and the centerpiece I was working on, but you could do this with any color! Continue reading →
I wanted to register for china for our wedding, but we ended up going the Crate and Barrel route instead. And then of course a year, and a couple broken dishes later, the stores stopped carrying our set. You can get them through special order, but what a fuss. So when we moved and needed more dishes, I changed up our set. Between thrift stores and hand-me-downs, we now have a mix of fun china and great basics. Do they match? Well, no… not in the traditional sense. But they do all work together. And the best part? If something breaks, its easily replaceable. Continue reading →
When it came time to decorate our bathroom, I got stuck deciding what to do for artwork. I was also in the middle of figuring out where to store all my jewelry so it was easily accessible. Then it dawned on me. Why not make my jewelry the artwork? Continue reading →
Our daughters room is still a work in progress, but this weekend we made some headway. We found 7 molded plastic horses at a local flea market and couldn’t pass them up! After getting them home and having a long debate on where they should go, we decided they would be most fun in a child’s room. They have been sitting around for awhile, and this weekend we finally cleaned them up, painted them, and installed them in their new home. Continue reading →
