Making Flavored Mustard

Happy Friday! Today I am bringing you a special post, just in time for the holiday weekend. This Labor Day we are headed to a big family bbq, and so I thought I’d make a few flavored mustards to accompany our yummy grilled food.

I was actually inspired by some super delicious lilikoi mustard I had while we were in Hawaii. Unfortunately I didn’t pick up any lilikoi jam while we were there, but I did have some wild blueberry, orange marmalade, and strawberry jam on hand! And of course the mustard.

I put some mustard into clean jars, then added the desired jam to each one. Mix them well and taste. I kept tasting and adding more jam until I got just the right mixture. I would say my ratio was about 1 Tbsp mustard to 3 tsp jam, give or take.

Here are my three flavored mustards: Wild Blueberry, Strawberry, Orange Rosemary.

I took one mustard a step further. To the orange marmalade mixture I also added fresh minced rosemary and some seedy mustard. Feel free to get creative with this!

Happy Labor Day, and I hope you enjoy your weekend!
