Before leaving for vacation Sydney and I had fun coloring flowers. I thought it would help me teach her about plants, and how they need water to stay alive…. Well it didn’t quite turn out as expected, but she still got the point!

We mixed food coloring into different jars.

Added daisies.

Then put them on the window sill and waited for the magic to happen…

The blue water actually worked, and we saw those daisies start to change color. Sadly, the others never changed. Not sure what went wrong, but the good news is she still learned the lesson I had set out to teach!

Have your tried this at home with your kids? I’d love to hear how it turned out! I swear my mom did this with us growing up, and the flowers completely changed color… hmmm… maybe we should try this again sometime with Nana!
